Dwitiya or the second day of Navratri.
The second day is dedicated to worship Goddess Brahmacharini.
Parvati became Yogini, her unmarried self, hence the name “Brahmacharini”.
Goddess Brahmacharini is worshipped for emancipation or moksha. She is even worshipped for the endowment of peace and prosperity.
Goddess Brahmacharini is shown in pictures, walking bare feet, holding a japamal (rosary) and a kamandal (pot) in her hands. She looks calm and blissful.
