Navratri: Day 3 – Chandraghanta Devi

The third day is known as Tritiya.

This day commemorates the worship of Chandraghanta.

Chandraghanta is the name derived after Goddess Parvati married Lord Shiva. Goddess Parvati adorned her forehead with the “Ardha Chandra”, meaning the “half-moon”. “Chandra” means the ” moon”, hence the goddess is named ” Chandraghanta”.

She is the embodiment of beauty and also symbolizes bravery.
