What Is This Movie About?
“The Life List” is a new movie on Netflix that came out on March 28, 2025. It stars Sofia Carson as a woman named Alex Rose.
In the movie, Alex’s mom passes away. But before she died, she left Alex a special challenge. Alex has to complete a list of dreams she wrote when she was 13 years old!
Alex’s Big Adventure
Alex doesn’t want to do the list at first. She’s busy with her job and thinks these childhood dreams are silly. But a lawyer named Brad (played by Kyle Allen) has to make sure she finishes each task.
Some of the things Alex has to do are:
- Tell jokes at a comedy club
- Learn to play a song on the piano
- Try something new every day for a week
- Find her birth father (who’s a musician!)
As Alex works on her list, she starts to have fun and remember what she loved as a kid.
Making New Friends
Along the way, Alex meets new people who help her. She also fixes problems with her family.
Alex has two brothers who were jealous that she was close with their mom. By the end of the movie, they become closer as a family.
She also starts to like Brad, the lawyer who’s helping her. They have some fights, but in the end, they realize they really care about each other.
The Big Surprise
At the end of the movie, Alex learns what she really inherited from her mom – the family house!
Her mom also left her videos to watch after finishing each task on the list.
The most important thing Alex learns is what makes true love. Her mom taught her that true love happens when:
- You open your heart to someone
- That person is kind
- They help you be your best self
- You can imagine having a family with them
