Multicolored Illustration

A beautiful rainbow in the sky is eye-catching and nature’s way of spreading beauty all around.

When we look at the rainbow, it always gives us a feeling of joy, happiness and hope.

Did you know – that – a rainbow to appear, the settings of the Sun and the water droplets and the atmospheric conditions, in the sky, need to be just right.

Only if you are in the right place at the right time, you can see the “rainbow”.

A rainbow is caused by sunlight, water droplets and atmospheric conditions. That is why we mostly see the rainbow after the rainy season.

Rainbow is formed when:

Sunlight enters into the water droplets, in the sky. This slows down and bends the light of the sun, as it goes from air to denser water.

The sunlight gets reflected from the inside of the water droplets, thus separating into its constituent wavelengths of different colours.

Colours hold immense power because they can influence our emotions, moods and behaviours.

Colours are also a source of information. You remember your favourite dress because of the colour, your first bike or car is chosen based on the colour.

We respond to things based on their colour. A person’s reaction to a certain colour can arise from his/her personal experience. This has open new doors in the education sector. It has led to the development of fields of “Science of Colour” and “Colour Psychology”.

In the “Advertisement industry”, “Colour Psychology” plays a major role in marketing and branding.

In the areas of marketing and branding, the product’s colour and its packaging depends on the colours chosen.

Chakras And Colours

Man in Green and Black Suit

There are 7 main chakras, each of a different colour, in our body.

These “Chakras” are located on the spinal cord.

These 7 chakras have colours similar to the rainbow. And these chakras control our mind, body and soul.

The chakras are central energy sockets throughout the body, that are associated with different organs and glands, along the spinal cord.

Energy flows through these chakras to give us life energy and controls the overall functioning of the body.

Depending on our “thoughts” and “karmas”, these chakras get affected.

As each Chakra has a significant colour attached to it, the vibration of a certain colour matches or affects the chakra of the same colour.

Our seven chakras and their colours coincide with the colours of the rainbow.  And are in the same order – VIBGYOR – violet, indigo, blue, green, yellow, orange, red.

Even gemstones of different colours have been matched with their equivalent chakra for their believed healing properties.

Our chakras get activated or deactivated based on our emotions, inner balance and health change.

The chakra colours are dependent on our recent physical, emotional, and spiritual state.

When a person is harmonious and happy, all the 7 chakras get balanced. At this stage, the life energy flows into the 7 chakras harmoniously. Hence, we feel active and energetic when we are very happy and excited.
